Chemical propertiesColorless to pale yellow thick liquid, odorless, hygroscopic. It is stable at normal temperature, but it can decompose when exposed to acids or alkalis. It is miscible with many organic solvents such as acetone, ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform and ethyl acetate, and soluble in water. pH 5.5-7.0(17g/L,H2O,25℃). Melting point: -49 to -55℃. Boiling point: 242-243℃/760mmHg. Density ρ(20) : 1.200-1.210g/mL. Refractive index n20/D1.419-1.423. Viscosity: 1.4mm ² /s(at 43℃). Flash point: 269.6℉/132℃.
